PRACTICAL SECTOR INSIGHT

How energy transactions are assessed

These are representative transaction considerations informed by the types of opportunities and counterparties we engage with. They are not public listings or claims of completed transactions.

Utility-scale solar and battery storage

We consider projects at development, ready-to-build and operating stages, including co-located battery storage, hybridisation of existing generation and portfolios of multiple sites. Grid capacity, land rights and the route to construction are central to investor assessment.

Wind and operational assets

Operating wind portfolios can suit infrastructure capital seeking contracted or merchant revenue. Relevant materials include generation history, operating costs, maintenance contracts, remaining asset life and the basis of valuation.

Integrated power for digital infrastructure

AI infrastructure increasingly depends on firm power. Opportunities may combine solar, dispatchable generation and BESS to support data-centre demand, with power-delivery milestones, interconnection, permits and offtake arrangements requiring careful verification.

Investor-ready information

We typically ask for a project teaser, site-control position, grid/interconnection evidence, planning and permitting status, capex, expected returns, offtake/PPA position and the proposed transaction structure. Early-stage concepts and construction-ready assets appeal to different capital sources.
