Data controller and contact
Spoog Limited is responsible for personal information collected through this website and handled in connection with its business activities. Our registered office is Invision House, Wilbury Way, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG4 0TY, United Kingdom. For privacy requests, email darrell@spoog.com.
Information we collect
When you contact us, we may collect your name, business or organisation, email address, telephone number and the information in your enquiry. We may also hold business correspondence and relevant contact or project information in our customer relationship management system. Our website host may process technical information, including IP addresses and browser or device details, to operate and protect the site.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use information to respond to enquiries, assess potential business relationships and projects, manage contacts and correspondence, facilitate appropriate business introductions and meet legal obligations. Depending on the circumstances, our lawful bases under UK GDPR include legitimate interests in operating and developing our business, taking steps at your request before entering a contract, complying with legal obligations and, where applicable, consent. We consider individuals’ interests and rights when relying on legitimate interests.
Providers and disclosures
The website and enquiry forms are hosted by Netlify; business email is provided through 123 Reg; and Pipedrive is used to manage contacts and business relationships. Spoog Daily is our internally developed assistant used for business analysis; it is not intended to process website enquiry contact records. We may disclose relevant information to professional advisers, service providers or prospective investors, lenders and commercial counterparties where appropriate and lawful. We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some service providers or business counterparties may process or access personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual or other lawful safeguards. You may contact us for further information about safeguards relevant to your data.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected and any applicable legal, regulatory or dispute-resolution requirements. We review inactive enquiry and contact records after three years and delete or anonymise them where there is no continuing business or legal reason to retain them. Records may be retained longer where justified by an ongoing relationship or legal obligation.
Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its processing, or request data portability where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and website analytics
We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or other advertising or behavioural tracking tools on this website. Netlify may process technical access and security information as part of hosting the site. Any cookies or similar technologies used for essential functionality or security are distinct from advertising or analytics tracking. We will update this notice and obtain consent where required if our use of cookies or tracking changes.
